Brighten Your Face with One Ingredient

Want to Lighten and Brighten Your Face?

What you'll need:

1 Lemon (yep, that is it)

What you'll do:

Take a fresh lemon and put in the fridge for a couple hours. Once the lemon is good and cold, take it out of your refrigerator and roll it on the kitchen counter firmly. The point is to loosen up the pulp inside the lemon and release all those valuable juices.

Next, cut the lemon in half. Put half in the fridge inside a resealable baggie for another day. Take your other half and remove any seeds that are sitting on the top of your half lemon.

Next, you will lean over the sink and simply rub the lemon on your face. Cover your whole face except for your immediate eye area. Do this for several minutes. The lemon is cold and will feel amazing on your face. Once you are done, you will have some bits of lemon and a few layers of lemon juice on your face. Do not rinse yet.

Leave lemon bits and juice on your face and go relax for a few minutes. Once your face is pretty dry, go back to the sink and rinse your face with cold water. You are done!

Notes:

Do this in the morning and the wonderful lemon smell will revive you and make you feel so refreshed and alert.

Do be sure to use a sunscreen or a makeup or moisturizer with sunscreen after this treatment. Your skin might be more sensitive to sunlight after this treatment.

This method takes time, so you will need to repeat the treatment. Do not use it more than about three times a week, as it can be too drying otherwise.

Definitely moisturize after this treatment. Try a light coating of organic coconut oil for a great feeling, smelling moisturizer.

Don't have a fresh lemon, but you have a bottle of lemon juice in your refrigerator? No problem! Saturate a cotton ball or pad with the lemon juice and continue in the same manner as above. I do like the real lemon though as it also acts as a light exfoliate!

Enjoy lighter, brighter skin!
